This photo was taken in 2015 by Paula Farage during our vacation in Lima (Peru). It is one of my favourite photos (it is the Facebook profile until today) because it is spontaneous, I am smiling, and we were in the middle of a great trip.
In the record of my training, I decided to include both formal and informal events. So, this will be a short biography that, who knows, may inspire and guide any eventual admirers to open and maintain my Wikipedia page (no pressure, guys).
I was born in Recife (PE), Brazil, on April 21, 1983, more specifically in the neighbourhood of Cordeiro, son of Roberto and Clarice and twin brother of Rodolfo. At the age of 2, we went to live in Brasília, at 4 in Lisbon, at 6 in Brasília again, at 8 in São Paulo, at 9 in Brasília again, at 12 in Recife and, finally, at 14 in Brasília… again. In the capital of Brazil, I learned to enjoy reading: 16 years, 100 years of Solitude, Gabriel Garcia Marques.
I have a clear memory of what it was like leaving a small Catholic school for the big Centro Educacional Sigma, from the fourth to the fifth grade. And I like to think that the increase in difficulty helped me be a better person. I stayed there until I graduated from high school, well prepared for the University entrance exam, as promised by the education center.
My first course at the University of Brasilia was Social Sciences, which would have a specialization in Sociology if it weren't for a family friend. Ademir, my father's former Portuguese teacher in Recife who lived in Brasilia, recommended that I study Advertising because he recognized me as a creative person. I was already studying Sociology at Universidade de Brasília (UnB). I chose to follow some semesters in the course to see what would happen. Ironically, UnB was on strike. My father recommended that Rodolfo and I join a private college to avoid wasting too much time. We enrolled at UniCEUB, me in Advertising, Rodolfo in Journalism. But we didn't even complete a semester because UnB reopened its doors before that. I attended 3 semesters of Social Sciences and realized that it was not something that should be my priority. I took the 3rd semester to study for the entrance exam for Advertising at UnB's library and kept taking some classes not to lose my link with the University. In the Communication course, I followed a peaceful path until I graduated as a copywriter, presenting a final work in comics, eager for new directions for advertising. It was criticism from someone who was just starting out and wanted to change things from the beginning. Definitely, not the first to do that… I did the project with two friends, Josaías and Squitch. But the highlight of my time at UnB was Doisnovemeia Publicidade, which I quote in the Formal Career > Advertising section of the site.
After I left Brasília, I built my experience more based on work than formal studies. I lived in São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro until I returned to Brasília. In 2015, I started my post-graduate studies at FIA. I went to São Paulo once a month to follow the Small and Medium Business Administration course. I ended up as a class speaker (video heroically recorded by my brother), nominated by my colleagues. My final work, The Impact of Business Succession on Organizational Culture Change - A theoretical and practical contribution for adoption in family SMEs, was based on my experience at Spin Engenharia. Also, I was certified as a Project Management Professional and Practitioner of Agile Methods by the Project Management Institute - check Formal Career> Project Management - and as Professional Scrum Product Owner I by Scrum.org.
I graduated in English from Casa Thomas Jefferson in 1999 and studied German at the Goethe Institute from 2005 to 2007.
I complement my life training by reading. My average book read from 2016 to 2019 was 45 a year, which I keep registered with Goodreads. I have also been taking courses online lately, like Becoming Officeless, Friends of Tomorrow, Programming for Dummies - IT from basic to advanced knowledge, Introduction to Phyton Programming, UX Design - Fast and Practical, Learn Jira Complete from Scratch to Expert, How to Structure a Customer Success Area from Scratch, Drawing a Web Page with Figma.
